FULL ITINERARY:
Day 1:
Agadir – Taroudante – Taliouine – Foum zguid – Erg
Chegaga
Pick you
up at 8 o’clock, Departure from Agadir with an interesting stop to enjoy the old ramparts
of Taroudante city. Then, continue to Taliouine known as the produced town for Safran.
After few hours drive, we reach Taznalht for lunch break; then, via Foum zguid, we
will drive across the gravel desert and pass by a fossil site.Our trip will lead us
across the even plane of Lac Iriki, a dried-out lake in a solidary desert landscape glistening
white in the sunshine in order to reach the immense sand dunes of Erg Chegaga where there
are still nomads living with herds of camels today, you will enjoy the rough beauty, the
endless vastness and quietude of the desert. You will experience the constant change of light
depending on the position of the sun that turns this archaic countryside into a bizarre dream
landscape and where you will enjoy a picturesque sunset, upon the sand dunes of 300 mhigh and
40 km along. Dinner and night in nomad tent or under the starlit in a
Bivouac.
Day 2: Erg
Chegaga Dunes Camel treks
After breakfast at the camp, you start a day camel trek in the middle of
the desert. Lunch will be enjoyed under shadowy tree in a palm tree groves oasis. After lunch
and relaxation, you continue another two hours ride before arriving to the Camp. Dinner and
night in the Bivouac.
Day 3: Erg Chegaga Dunes –
Mhamid – Tamegroute – Zagora – Draa Valley – Agdz –
Ouarzazate.
After
enjoying the fresh morning breeze and sunrise upon the Chegaga dunes, you enjoy your
breakfast.The journey will lead us across sand roads and stone deserts, deep into the Moroccan
Sahara. Travel towards Zagora with a stop in M’hamid for a cup of tea. Then, we reach a
nice historical village named Tamegroute for the visit of a nice underground kasbah and also a
Koranic library. After 30km, you will arrive at Zagora for lunch break. You continue your
exploration towards Agdz with nice stops in the longest valley of Morocco named Draa
valley with thick palm trees groves, lot of kasbahs and traditional old houses.Arriving
Ouarzazate where will be your overnight accommodation at riad.
Day 4: Ouarzazate – Ait Benhadou Kasbah – Taznakht –
Taliouine – Taroudant – Agadir.
After the breakfast
we will visit the Taourirt kasbah former home of the famous Pasha Glaoui. The painted ceilings,
arches, beautiful small windows with wrought iron works and woodwork have helped make it
another UNESCO site. We will also visit of the Atlas Corporation Studio, a well –known
cinematographic centre renowned for blockbuster productions including Asterix and Cleopatre
directed by Alain Chabat; and the Oscar-wining Gladiator, directed by Ridley Scott. After 30
kilometers from Ouarzazate, we will stop to visit Ait Benhadou Kasbah which is one of the
most intriguing red earth castles lining the ancient road of the Kasbahs, and is a UNESCO world
heritage site. After the lunch we will return to Agadir via Taznakht and Taliouine,
arriving Agadir before the sunset, drop you off at your hotel where the end of our
service.
